This is my third hp elite series. I bought two f with monitor combos and do not regret it. This one has the faster cpu with single sata drive. I like the core 2 quad chips. This board will take faster ones when the price comes down. Cons: It's refurbished some scratches on the case but nothing to cry about. Fan is loud spinning at higher rpms when system boots but quites down once vista starts to run. Refurbs may not be for be for the novice unless you get lucky.

I think people who work on these refurbs are low on the hp food chain. They may not be able to figure out the problem or run machines long enough to discover what is wrong when problems are intermittent. Intermittent problems are the hardest ones to figure out. So even though this system reviewed well it does not mean every hp system reviews well and I would look at each one individually. That goes for individual parts as well. I would have uninstalled all the hp applets anyway if I did not. If anyone has blue screen memory dump problems it turned out to be a bad ram chip in one of the fs.
